Donation Policy

Respect for every gift and every donor.

This policy explains how Helping Hands for Nations Inc. accepts, acknowledges, restricts, refunds, and protects information related to charitable contributions.

01

1. Voluntary contributions

Donations are voluntary and must support the charitable mission, lawful activities, and organizational values. Helping Hands for Nations may decline a gift that creates an improper obligation, unacceptable risk, excessive administrative burden, conflict of interest, or legal concern.

02

2. Use of funds

Unrestricted donations may be used where the organization determines the need is greatest, including reasonable program and administrative costs. A donor restriction is binding only when it is accepted by the organization and is lawful, practical, and consistent with the mission. If a restricted purpose becomes impossible or impracticable, the organization will follow applicable law and contact the donor when reasonably possible.

03

3. Payment processing

Online gifts are processed by third-party payment providers, including PayPal. Their terms, privacy practices, fees, security controls, and processing timelines may apply. Donors should not send cash through the mail or provide payment passwords to volunteers.

04

4. Receipts and tax matters

The organization provides acknowledgments based on available donor and transaction information. Helping Hands for Nations Inc. is recognized as tax-exempt under IRS Section 501(c)(3). Contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law; donors should consult their own tax adviser. No tax deduction is available for the fair market value of goods or services received in exchange for a payment.

05

5. Refunds and errors

Charitable donations are generally non-refundable. A donor may promptly request review of a duplicate transaction, processing error, unauthorized payment, or exceptional circumstance. Approval is not guaranteed and may depend on funds already committed or spent, payment-provider rules, and applicable law.

06

6. Donor privacy

Donor information is used for processing, receipts, required records, communications, compliance, and stewardship. It is not sold. Information may be shared with service providers, auditors, regulators, law enforcement, or professional advisers when necessary and legally permitted.

07

7. In-kind gifts and fundraising authority

Goods and services are accepted only when useful, safe, lawful, and operationally practical. Donors are responsible for valuations unless the law requires otherwise. No person may fundraise, collect money, create a campaign, or use the organization’s name or logo without written authorization.
