Safe, respectful, and accountable service.

Volunteers must treat beneficiaries, fellow volunteers, staff, partners, and the public with dignity. Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, exploitation, hate speech, and retaliation are prohibited.

Volunteers must provide accurate information and may be asked for identification, references, background checks, certifications, or additional verification depending on the role. Volunteers may only perform authorized duties under the assigned supervision structure.

The safety of children, seniors, people with disabilities, disaster survivors, and other vulnerable individuals comes first. Volunteers must avoid inappropriate physical contact, private unsupervised access, favoritism, gifts that create dependency, and any form of abuse or exploitation. Suspected harm must be reported promptly.

• Follow safety instructions, local law, and site rules
• Do not work while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or unsafe fatigue
• Use vehicles, equipment, funds, and supplies only as authorized
• Do not carry weapons while volunteering unless specifically required by lawful professional duties and approved in writing
• Report injuries, hazards, losses, and serious incidents immediately

Volunteer access to beneficiary, donor, partner, financial, personnel, grant, and operational information is limited to assigned duties. Volunteers must not post names, documents, images, locations, or stories without authorization and appropriate consent. Only authorized representatives may speak officially for the organization.

Volunteers may not collect cash, solicit donations, sign agreements, promise assistance, purchase goods, or commit organizational funds without written authorization. Actual or potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

Volunteers should communicate promptly if they cannot attend. Helping Hands for Nations may change or end an assignment at any time for safety, performance, conduct, operational, or legal reasons. Volunteers may also end service by notifying their supervisor.
